Is The New Testament Our Pattern?
By Steven J. Wallace
Man has always been held accountable to law from God. The New Testament is our law today and it serves as a pattern for us to follow. This pattern has been modeled in the example of Jesus Christ and further expounded on by the apostles. Those who teach otherwise have "turned aside to idle talk" and "understand neither what they say nor the things which they affirm" (1 Tim. 1:6, 7). There has never been a time when man was left to make up his own rules on how to live acceptably toward God. God has always revealed what He has expected of man. In faith man either responds in obedience or he responds in disobedience. Some try to add to the pattern which is equally sinful. We have no right add our preferences, opinions, or scruples to the gospel plan. Sin is committed when we become factious with personal opinions as well as being liberal unauthorized additions. Just take if for what it is and hold fast.

Two lessons about HOPE in an acrostic approach. Hope is the anchor of the soul that ascends into the immovable Presence of God (Heb. 6:18-20). What does this mean to us today as we face trials of uncertainty, fear, death, separation, etc.?
